Justice At Last: Police Parade Six Officers Caught Assaulting Student with Machete



The Imo State Police Command has paraded six of its personnel captured in a viral video assaulting students of Imo State University with a machete after the students refused to grant them access to their mobile phones.

According to reports, the incident, which sparked widespread outrage, involved police officers brutalizing the students in what has been described as a gross violation of human rights. Following public backlash, the Imo State Police Command swiftly identified and arrested the officers involved.

The officers currently facing orderly room trial are:

  1. Inspector Amadi Sunday (Team Leader)
  2. Inspector Amajuoji Charles
  3. Sergeant Noachian Chinese
  4. Sergeant Onwuka Emmanuel
  5. Corporal Nzewuodo Goodness
  6. Police Constable Emmanuel Chimezie

The Police Command, in a statement, condemned the act, stressing that it does not condone any form of brutality or misconduct by its officers. It assured the public that justice would be served at the conclusion of the internal disciplinary process.

The incident has reignited conversations around police reform and the need for stricter oversight of law enforcement agencies in Nigeria.
