JUST IN: Governor Declares Three-Day Public Holiday

The Benue State Government has declared Thursday, Friday, and Monday as public holidays to enable residents fully participate in the Easter festivities.

Governor Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Alia made the announcement through a statement issued from the Government House in Makurdi. The Governor emphasized that the holidays are meant to give workers and citizens ample time to observe the Easter Triduum, a significant period for the Christian faith.

According to the statement, all government ministries, departments, and agencies across the state will remain closed throughout the three-day break.

Governor Alia, a former Catholic priest, described Easter as a time for deep reflection, spiritual renewal, and spending quality time with family. He extended warm Easter greetings to Christians in Benue State and across Nigeria.

“It is a time to reflect, spend time with loved ones, and recharge both body and soul,” the governor said.

He urged the people of the state to remain steadfast in their faith and return from the holiday with renewed energy to contribute to the progress and development of Benue State.
