The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has unveiled six innovative digital tools designed to enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in Nigeria’s electoral process.
The tools were introduced during a one-day retreat held in Lagos on Wednesday, April 30, as part of INEC’s ongoing efforts to embrace technology in election management.
Speaking at the event, INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, emphasized that the newly developed mobile applications will significantly improve various stages of the electoral cycle, from voter registration to the collation of results.
“These mobile applications reflect our commitment to leveraging technology for transparent and efficient elections,” Yakubu stated.
The six digital tools introduced are:
- CROMS – Collation and Returning Officers Management System
- ERMS – Election Results Management System
- VETS – Virtual Election Training System
- PFRAS – Political Party Financial Reporting System
- EMSC Dashboard – Election Monitoring and Support Center
- EFLOC – Electoral Facility Locator
Yakubu expressed confidence that the tools will modernize electoral operations, bolster integrity, and promote accountability across the board.
