Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has brought in 168 new aides as part of his administration’s ongoing effort to strengthen governance, improve service delivery, and broaden political inclusiveness across the state.
The appointments were announced on Tuesday through an official statement released by the governor’s media team. The move is seen as part of a broader restructuring process by the governor to reposition his government for more effective performance and deeper community engagement.
According to the statement, many of the newly appointed aides possess considerable experience in public service and political leadership, having served at national, state, and local levels. Their selection was based on their track records, capacity for leadership, and ability to contribute meaningfully to the goals of the current administration.
The appointments include:
- Five Principal Special Assistants on Political and Community Relations
- One Principal Special Assistant on Pension Matters
- One Senior Special Assistant on Labour Matters
- 60 Senior Special Assistants
- 38 Special Assistants
- 63 Personal Assistants
The majority of the appointees are expected to focus on political and community-based roles, aligning with the governor’s plan to bring governance closer to the grassroots and foster greater citizen participation in policy implementation.
The statement emphasized that the new aides are to assume duty immediately and are expected to deploy their expertise to support the government’s vision for sustainable development, transparency, and responsiveness to the needs of the people.
