It was reported the death of Pascal Dozie, founder of the now-defunct Diamond Bank Plc and former Chairman of MTN Nigeria.
According to a statement released by his family on Tuesday, the renowned businessman passed away on Monday at the age of 85.
Born on April 9, 1939, Dozie was raised in a Catholic family. He had his early education at Our Lady’s School Emekuku, Holy Ghost Juniorate Seminary, and Holy Ghost College, Owerri. He later earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the London School of Economics, followed by a Master’s in Administrative Science from City University, London.
Dozie made significant contributions to Nigeria's economy, founding Diamond Bank, which later merged with Access Bank, and playing a vital role in expanding MTN Nigeria as its chairman.
He is survived by his wife, Chinyere, and their five children.
