The traditional Prime Minister of Akpakwume autonomous Community in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State, Chief Livinus Okolo, was this Wednesday evening alleged to have been abducted by men who claimed to be Policemen.
Reports say the Onowu was whisked away at about 7.00pm from his hotel, Parliament Landmark Hotel, near Enugu Fire Service by the 7 armed men who came in a Mitsubishi bus and a black Hilux van.
They harassed and intimidated everyone around before dragging Chief Okolo into their vehicle.
An witness who trailed the invading team said they drove to the Police Area Command at Abakpa junction and were overheard saying they would head to the State CID, before taking him to 9th Mile.
The incident is said to have happened in the presence of a team of journalists who were interviewing Chief Okolo.The abduction of Chief Livinus Okolo (Zion) may not be unconnected with a crisis in the community, last month, which led to the Enugu State Government suspending the traditional ruler of Akpakwume, Igwe Nwokolo Odenigbo Ekwueme.
