A bomb explosion has left a newly constructed bungalow in ruins in Umuneke, Mbieri, a community in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State. The blast, which occurred around 1 am on Sunday, caused panic among locals, with many fleeing to nearby communities in fear for their safety.
According to a local resident, the house had only recently been completed, and the owners were planning to move in by February. “We heard a loud sound that echoed through the nearby villages. When we gathered the courage to see what had happened, we found the house completely destroyed,” the resident shared.
The explosion has left the community in shock, particularly because of the couple’s hard work in building their dream home. “It’s heartbreaking. The couple had worked so hard for this, and now they won’t even get to live in it,” the source said.
The cause of the explosion is still unclear, but locals suspect foul play, as the incident seemed far from ordinary. Authorities are investigating the matter.
