BREAKING: Impeached Lagos Speaker, Obasa Finally Breaks Silence, Tells His Story

Former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has broken his silence regarding his recent removal. In a statement delivered during a welcome rally at his residence in Joel Ogunnaike GRA, Ikeja, on Saturday, Obasa described the allegations against him as "fictitious and unsubstantiated."

Obasa stated that while he was not afraid of being removed from office, the process should have been carried out in accordance with the law. He accused the Police of being involved in his removal, alleging that the Commissioner of Police led security agents to invade the Assembly ahead of his ousting.

The former Speaker further claimed that his homes in Agege and Ikeja were raided by over 200 policemen who allegedly locked his family indoors. Despite these challenges, Obasa expressed that his removal was not the end of the world, stating, “If I am not Speaker, that’s not the end of the world. If you want to claim that I am corrupt, please prove it.”

He also challenged the accusations, particularly a claim involving an alleged N16 billion expenditure on a gate, asking, “It’s possible to construct a gate, an ordinary gate with N16bn? When it’s not Jericho wall.”

Obasa’s comments have sparked public interest, with many awaiting further developments regarding the ongoing situation.
