BREAKING: Governor Renames Seven Ministries for Improved Governance

As part of its efforts to enhance public service delivery and align with modern governance standards, Edo State Government has announced the renaming of seven ministries. 

The announcement was made on Tuesday by Musa Ikhilor, the Secretary to the State Government, following approval from Governor Monday Okpebholo. The name changes aim to streamline operations and improve the efficiency of the affected ministries.

The ministries and their new names are as follows:

  1. Ministry of Roads and Bridges is now Ministry of Works
  2. Ministry of Local Government, Community, and Chieftaincy Affairs is now Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs
  3. Ministry of Communication and Orientation is now Ministry of Information and Communications
  4. Ministry of Mining and Energy is now Ministry of Mining
  5. Ministry of Water Resources is now Ministry of Water Resources and Energy
  6. Ministry of Social Development and Gender Issues is now Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development
  7. Ministry of Digital Economy, Science, and Technology is now Ministry of Science and Technology

The state government has assured citizens that these changes will contribute to better service delivery and governance, fostering more effective operations within the ministries.
