Another Fuel Tanker Explodes, Burns Down Filling Station

A fuel tanker exploded at a filling station in Dutse, the capital of Jigawa State, on Thursday evening, causing widespread chaos. The explosion occurred around 8 pm at the Shakkotu area along Kiyawa Road. Eyewitnesses described a terrifying scene as people scrambled to escape the flames that engulfed the station after the tanker burst while offloading fuel.

One eyewitness, Baba Nura, recalled hearing a loud explosion and rushing to the scene, where the fire had spread across the filling station. Several nearby properties were also reportedly damaged.

The Jigawa State Police confirmed the incident, stating that they received reports of the fire outbreak and quickly cordoned off the area. Firefighters were called in to control the blaze. Although no fatalities have been reported so far, authorities are continuing to monitor the situation. Attempts to reach the filling station's manager for further details have been unsuccessful, with staff declining to comment.

This fire marks another dangerous incident involving fuel tankers, following similar explosions across the country in recent months.
