Breaking! Anambra Bloodshed Persists As Woman Loses All Her Three Sons in a Protracted Cult Clash

Suspected cultists struck again in Awka, Anambra State capital, claiming the life of a young man identified as Nonso. This latest incident took place in broad daylight on Friday afternoon near the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, commonly known as Amaku.

Nonso, the third son in a family of three boys, tragically follows his two brothers, who also fell victim to cult-related violence. Reports indicate that his younger brother, Buchi, was murdered three months ago near MacDon Eatery, while the eldest brother had previously met a similar fate. Their mother is now left without any surviving children, marking a heart-wrenching culmination to a series of attacks tied to escalating cult activities in Awka.

The city has witnessed a spike in cult-related killings, with 16 people recently killed in Nibo and seven others in the Ifite Awka area. Despite increased police efforts and public reassurances, the violence continues to spiral.

Responding to this latest tragedy, Anambra State Police Commissioner Nnaghe Obono Itam condemned the killing and vowed a rigorous investigation. "We will leave no stone unturned in apprehending the perpetrators and bringing them to justice," he stated.

In a proactive move, the Ezinano Awka Community, led by Ozo Jeff Nweke, announced a N10 million bounty for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the Nibo massacre. The community also issued a stern warning to cultists, urging them to stay away from Awka and its surrounding areas.
