Breaking! SSG and Commissioner Suspended

In a major development within the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kano, the State Secretary to the Government (SSG), Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, and the Commissioner of Transportation, Muhammad Diggol, have been suspended from their respective positions. This was confirmed by the state party chairman, Hashim Sulaiman Dungurawa, on Monday.

The suspension of the two senior officials follows accusations of disloyalty, abuse of power, and contributing to instability within the party. According to Dungurawa, the decision was based on reports from local party leaders in Bichi North, the area from which both Bichi and Diggol hail.

An audio recording of Dungurawa announcing the suspension had earlier circulated widely, sparking public interest and debate over the internal conflicts plaguing the party. In his statement, Dungurawa noted: “We are announcing today that we have suspended the SSG Abdullahi Baffa Bichi and the Commissioner of Transportation, Muhammad Diggol, over abuse of power, office, and disloyalty to the party.”

The NNPP chairman further praised the local leadership for bringing the issue to the attention of the state party, emphasizing that this move was made to restore order within the party while further investigations are conducted.

There has been a growing crisis in the Bichi area, with tensions between key party stakeholders. The suspension of these two officials highlights the escalating power struggle within the NNPP, particularly as local politics continues to stir up challenges for the party’s leadership.

This internal crisis comes at a time when the NNPP is attempting to consolidate its position in Kano, a state where it holds significant political influence. The resolution of this conflict will likely have wide-ranging implications for the party's future in the state.
