Eyewitnesses on the scene expressed urgent calls for government intervention, as well as assistance from relevant emergency agencies to expedite rescue efforts. In a video obtained by Gistcore, a concerned bystander narrated the incident, emphasizing the critical need for immediate aid.

This disaster follows a similar incident in early October, when emergency responders rescued four individuals from a partially collapsed two-story residential building in Abuja’s Kubwa area, near Cupid Hotel on Sultan Dasuki Way. While that collapse affected a residential structure, the latest incident underscores the growing concerns surrounding building standards and safety regulations in the capital.

Just weeks ago, another building collapse was reported at Nicholas Ukachukwu's Praco Limited Estate in Guzape, Abuja, where several construction workers were feared dead. The repeated incidents have sparked public concern about the structural integrity of ongoing construction projects across Abuja, raising questions about compliance with safety standards and building codes.

Emergency responders remain engaged at the Sabon Lugbe site, as families, friends, and onlookers hope for positive news.
