Araceli Aid Foundation Academy's grand opening ceremony took place on October 18, 2024, at its permanent site in Obeagu Uno, Enugu South Local Government. The event commenced with a solemn Eucharistic celebration presided over by Peter Ebere Cardinal Okpalaeke, the Bishop of Ekwulobia Diocese, who also laid the foundation stone for the Araceli Vocational and Technical Academy, followed by the Commissioning of Buildings and a tour of the state-of-the-art facilities.
Distinguished guests included Peter Obi, the Labour Party's 2023 Presidential candidate; Ms Anne Rossmeier, an American Philanthropist; the Principal Sponsor of the Araceli Academy project, Most Rev. Isaac Dugu, Catholic Bishop of Katsina-Ala, who delivered the keynote address, Bishop Jonas Benson Okoye, Bishop of Awka Diocese, who laid the foundation stone for the Araceli Aid Crèche and Primary School the previous day. Also in attendance were other Catholic Bishops and priests.
The reception featured outstanding student performances and the cutting of a commemorative cake. Parents and well-wishers were impressed by the academy's exceptional facilities and education standards.
Peter Obi, Cardinal Okpalaeke, Ms. Ann Rosemeier, and Rev. Fr. Christian Nnaemeka Iroha, CEO of Araceli Aid Foundation, officially declared the school open. Several high-profile public figures joined the celebration.
