6 killed, Nurses, Patients Kidnapped, As Bandits Attack Hospital

Gunmen suspected to be bandits attacked Kallah Afogo Community in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, resulting in the deaths of six people and the abduction of several others, including nurses and patients. The tragic event unfolded around 11:15 p.m. on Sunday when the assailants stormed the village, breaking into homes and seizing residents.

Among those killed were Garkuwa Alfarma, Buhari Maidiga, Uba Auta, Yakubu Gaku, and Atabata Naallah. A resident who bravely pursued the attackers into the bush was killed and his body mutilated.

Following the Kallah attack, the bandits proceeded to Bakin Pah in Maro Ward, also within Kajuru Local Government, where they killed one more person and abducted six others.

Maigari Ben, a local community leader, called on security agencies to urgently increase their presence in the area to safeguard the community and ensure the swift rescue of the abducted victims. As of the time of the report, the Kaduna State Police Command had yet to release an official statement regarding the attack.

In another incident in Kuyello, Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area, two nurses and several patients were kidnapped from a Primary Health Care Centre. According to local vigilante Musa Alhassan, the bandits initially targeted a nearby Government Day Secondary School around 9 a.m. on Sunday. Upon finding the school deserted, they shifted their focus to the healthcare center, abducting two female nurses and an unknown number of patients, leaving the community in panic.

The residents, powerless to resist the heavily armed assailants, watched as people were dragged out of the hospital.
