Mr. Olusakin Babalola, a former news editor of the now-defunct Sketch newspaper, has died at the age of 73. Babalola, who hailed from Ipetumodu in Ife North Local Government Area, passed away in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Babalola had a distinguished career in journalism, working with various national dailies, including Newswatch Daily, Leadership newspaper, and Legit.com, an online news platform. He also served as the editor of Oodua News newspaper. Until his death, Babalola was the publisher of Spheres News Online, based in Ibadan.
The news of his passing marks the end of an era for a journalist who contributed significantly to Nigerian media over the years.
