The Federal Government’s commitment to making higher education more accessible is gaining further expression as the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, disburses ₦27,291,200 to support 59 students of the Cross River State College of Nursing Sciences, Obudu.
The financial intervention covers the beneficiaries’ school fees for the 2025/2026 academic session, providing significant relief to the students and their families while helping them remain focused on their nursing education.
In an acknowledgement letter dated August 17, 2026, addressed to NELFUND’s Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, the College confirmed that the funds were credited to its designated account on June 20, 2026. The institution described the payment as the first and only batch of beneficiaries for the academic session.
The Provost, Dr. Mrs. Undeshi Victoria Asube, expressed profound gratitude to NELFUND and the Federal Government, assuring that the money would be used strictly for the payment of the beneficiaries’ school fees, with appropriate receipts issued to the students.
The College noted that the intervention had greatly reduced the financial burden on beneficiary students and their families while promoting equitable access to quality nursing education in Nigeria.
The latest disbursement underscores the practical impact of President Tinubu’s NELFUND initiative, which is helping eligible students overcome financial obstacles and pursue professional qualifications that are essential to the country's development.
Beyond the ₦27.29 million disbursement, the intervention represents an investment in 59 future nursing professionals whose skills will contribute to strengthening Nigeria’s healthcare workforce.
Through NELFUND, Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda is translating into meaningful educational support, bringing relief to families and keeping the dreams of Nigerian students within reach.
