The funding covers verified beneficiaries’ statutory charges, supporting access to higher education and helping students continue their academic journey with renewed hope.
The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has disbursed a total of ₦54.21 million to 360 students of the Federal College of Agriculture, Moor Plantation, Ibadan, Oyo State, to support their institutional charges across the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 academic sessions.
The institution confirmed the disbursements in an official letter dated September 28, 2026, addressed to NELFUND’s Managing Director/Chief Executive. According to the payment breakdown, the funds were released in four batches between August 2025 and August 2026.
The records show that the first batch, released on August 13, 2025, provided ₦19.524 million for 91 students. The second batch, paid on October 22, 2025, amounted to ₦11.197 million for 54 students, while the third release of ₦7.76775 million, made on February 25, 2026, covered 73 students.
The fourth batch, released on August 4, 2026, provided ₦15.72125 million for another 142 students, bringing the total disbursement to ₦54.21 million for 360 beneficiaries.
The intervention forms part of NELFUND’s student-loan programme under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, which aims to reduce financial barriers to tertiary education by providing eligible students with interest-free loans for approved institutional charges and, where applicable, upkeep support.
For beneficiaries, the payment provides support towards their approved education expenses and can help reduce the financial pressure associated with meeting institutional requirements. It also offers parents and guardians some relief from the responsibility of raising the full cost of their children’s education at once.
The programme is designed to help eligible students pursue their studies with fewer financial interruptions, while strengthening access to higher education and the acquisition of professional skills. At an agricultural institution such as the Federal College of Agriculture, the initiative also supports the development of young people preparing for careers in agriculture and related fields.
NELFUND’s disbursement process involves collaboration with participating institutions to verify student records, identify eligible beneficiaries and reconcile payments. Continued coordination and timely processing remain important to ensuring that qualified students receive the support intended for them.
With the ₦54.21 million disbursement covering 360 students, the Federal College of Agriculture, Moor Plantation, Ibadan, is among the institutions benefiting from the federal student-loan initiative aimed at making tertiary education more accessible and supporting the educational aspirations of Nigerian youths.
