The Women Support Women Community Network (WOSCONET) has congratulated thousands of successful candidates recruited as teachers under the Enugu State Smart Schools programme, describing the development as a major boost to education and employment in the state.

The group also expressed appreciation to the Enugu State Governor, His Excellency, Barr. Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for what it described as a significant intervention capable of putting food on the tables of families while strengthening the quality of education available to children across the state.

The reaction followed the release of the list of successful candidates who participated in the 2024 Smart Schools teachers’ recruitment examination, with candidates who met the required standards and passed the recruitment process reportedly selected for employment.

WOSCONET said the development represents more than the creation of jobs, noting that the recruitment would simultaneously provide livelihood opportunities for successful applicants and ensure that children in Enugu’s Smart Schools are taught by qualified educators.

The organisation congratulated all successful candidates, urging them to see their appointments not only as an opportunity for personal advancement but also as a responsibility to contribute meaningfully to the education and future of children in the state.

According to WOSCONET, the employment drive demonstrates the importance of investing in both human capital and the education sector, describing the recruitment as a development that could have a positive impact on thousands of families and communities.

The group further commended Governor Mbah for his administration’s focus on initiatives that directly affect the lives of residents, particularly in areas of education, employment and human capital development.

WOSCONET said the Smart Schools initiative, coupled with the recruitment of qualified teachers, has the potential to strengthen learning outcomes and provide children with better educational opportunities.

The organisation extended its heartfelt congratulations to every candidate whose name appeared on the recruitment list, while encouraging the new teachers to approach their responsibilities with dedication, professionalism and a strong commitment to the children entrusted to their care.

WOSCONET also called on residents to continue supporting initiatives aimed at improving education and creating sustainable opportunities for young people and families across Enugu State.

The group concluded by expressing optimism that the latest employment initiative would translate into improved livelihoods, stronger schools and a brighter future for the people of Enugu State.
