VETERAN NOLLYWOOD ACTOR KEVIN IKEDUBA ANNOUNCES EXIT FROM ACTING, PLANS PERMANENT MOVE TO U.S.

Veteran Nollywood actor Kevin Ikeduba has revealed plans to quit acting after more than 25 years in the Nigerian film industry, citing financial struggles despite his long and successful career.

In a heartfelt statement that has sparked widespread reactions across social media, Ikeduba disclosed that Nollywood has not provided him with the level of financial stability many people assume established actors enjoy.

Reflecting on his journey, the actor said that despite dedicating over two decades of his life to entertaining audiences, he has been unable to achieve the kind of lifestyle he had envisioned.

"After over 25 years in Nollywood, the reality is it hasn't given me the financial stability people assume. I still can't live the life I desire. I've made the decision to leave acting behind, move to the U.S. permanently, and start afresh. If possible, I may even join the army or secure a stable job to rebuild my life."

Ikeduba's revelation has reignited conversations about the welfare and financial realities of many Nigerian actors, with fans and industry stakeholders expressing concern over the economic challenges faced by entertainers despite their popularity.

The actor's decision also highlights the growing trend of Nigerian creatives seeking better opportunities abroad as they pursue financial security and improved living conditions.

While it remains unclear when Ikeduba will officially relocate or retire from acting, his announcement marks a significant turning point in a career that has spanned more than two decades and earned him recognition as one of Nollywood's familiar faces.

His comments have since generated mixed reactions, with many fans expressing sadness over his planned departure while wishing him success in whatever path he chooses to pursue next.
