Political activities gathered momentum in Udenu Local Government Area on Friday, July 10, 2026, as the G-17 For Peter Mbah inaugurated its Local Government Executives, Ward Executives and Polling Unit Canvassers at the Udenu Local Government Council Secretariat, Obollo Afor, amidst a mammoth crowd of party faithful, political stakeholders, traditional rulers, women, youths and grassroots mobilisers drawn from the ten political wards of the council.
The event witnessed overwhelming endorsements for the re-election of the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, as speakers unanimously pledged to work with G-17 to ensure the victory of Governor Mbah, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
One of the major highlights of the event was the arrival of the APC Chairmanship Candidate for Udenu Local Government Area, Hon. Dr. Innocent Ezeoha (Techmore), whose entrance was greeted with loud cheers and excitement by members and supporters.
Addressing the jubilant crowd, Hon. Dr. Ezeoha thanked Governor Peter Mbah for finding him worthy to fly the APC flag in the forthcoming September 2026 Local Government election.
"I want G-17 to thank our Governor for believing in me. I have taken time to study this movement and I can confidently say G-17 is not one of those mushroom support groups. When I assume office by the grace of God, I will work closely with G-17 to strengthen grassroots mobilisation in Udenu," he declared.
He pledged to support the activities of G-17 throughout his administration and promised to deliver all APC candidates from the Presidency to the councillorship positions in the 2027 elections.
Hon. Ezeoha further applauded Governor Peter Mbah for transforming Udenu through the construction of 10 Smart Green Schools, 10 fully equipped Type-C Primary Healthcare Centres, road infrastructure and other people-oriented projects.
"What Governor Peter Mbah has done in Udenu deserves appreciation. We shall repay him with our votes because performance deserves continuity," he stated.
The high point of his visit was his decoration as a Patron of G-17 For Peter Mbah, following his declaration of total support for the movement.
Earlier, the Deputy Chairman of Udenu Local Government Area welcomed the leadership of G-17 and described it as the leading grassroots mobilisation structure in Enugu State.
"I have followed G-17 across the state. Looking at the calibre of people inaugurated today, this is certainly not a rented crowd. These are genuine grassroots mobilisers. I will work with G-17 to ensure that all APC candidates emerge victorious in 2027," she said.
The APC Women Leader in Udenu Local Government Area also declared her support for the movement.
"I am now a supporter of G-17 because I like what they are doing. I will work closely with them because Udenu people appreciate genuine grassroots mobilisation," she stated.
Welcoming the delegation to his home local government, the State Youth Leader of G-17 For Peter Mbah, Hon. Nnamdi Odoh, declared that the youths of Udenu had resolved to reward Governor Peter Mbah and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with overwhelming votes.
"The youths are fully prepared. Nobody will deceive them again because they have seen the visible transformation taking place across Enugu State. Udenu is ready," he declared.
The General Manager of Orie Orba International Market also commended G-17 for extending its mobilisation structure to Udenu.
He reminded members that despite another party presenting a candidate from Udenu during the recent Enugu North Senatorial bye-election, the people overwhelmingly voted for APC's Senator Ikeje Asogwa.
"That election proved that Udenu is APC. We shall repeat the same feat in 2027 by delivering all APC candidates," he affirmed.
In her remarks, the National Women Leader of G-17 For Peter Mbah, Hon. Princess Chinelo Ogbata Ejorh, urged women across Udenu to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and remain committed to the electoral process.
She noted that women and children remain the greatest beneficiaries of Governor Peter Mbah's administration through free education in Smart Green Schools and quality maternal healthcare provided in the Type-C Primary Healthcare Centres.
Delivering his keynote address, the Convener, Board of Trustees Chairman and Director-General of G-17 For Peter Mbah, Hon. Dr. Chinedu Mbah, thanked Hon. Dr. Innocent Ezeoha and the Deputy Chairman for their warm reception and support for the movement.
He reaffirmed that G-17 remains a disciplined grassroots political structure established to complement the APC by mobilising voters from the polling-unit level across Enugu State.
"G-17 is a grassroots-based structure created to work with the APC. We are here to strengthen the party and ensure that all APC candidates are delivered in 2027," he stated.
Hon. Dr. Mbah congratulated the newly inaugurated executives and reminded them that their inauguration was a call to service.
"You are already converted. Your duty now is to move from door to door, community to community and ward to ward, informing our people about the achievements of Governor Peter Mbah and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu," he charged.
Highlighting the achievements of the Governor in Udenu, the Director-General listed the construction of 10 Smart Green Schools, 10 fully equipped Type-C Primary Healthcare Centres, rural road projects and other infrastructural developments across the local government.
He also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the ongoing dualisation of the Obollo Afor–Opi–9th Mile Federal Highway, describing it as a strategic federal project that would further boost economic activities within the zone.
Hon. Dr. Mbah further highlighted the establishment of Enugu Air, the expansion of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport into an international cargo hub, the introduction of CNG buses, the Enugu Taxi Scheme, and other landmark initiatives transforming Enugu State.
"What Governor Peter Mbah has accomplished within this short period is unprecedented. Nobody can deceive Ndi Enugu anymore. There is no vacancy in Lion Building in 2027," he declared.
The event further strengthened G-17's expanding statewide grassroots mobilisation campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections and witnessed overwhelming endorsements from political leaders across Udenu Local Government Area.
Unlike conventional support groups, G-17 For Peter Mbah operates as a disciplined grassroots political structure whose members are carefully selected, sworn into office and required to possess valid Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). The movement continues to distinguish itself through its ward-to-ward and polling-unit mobilisation strategy across the seventeen Local Government Areas of Enugu State.
The ceremony concluded with the inauguration of the Local Government Executives, Ward Executives and Polling Unit Canvassers of G-17 For Peter Mbah, who pledged to immediately commence aggressive grassroots mobilisation and political sensitisation across all communities in Udenu Local Government Area ahead of the 2027 general elections.
