In a speech that drew significant attention, the former Minister accused the current administration of recycling promises without delivering tangible results. According to him, Nigerians have continued to hear about “renewed hope” without experiencing meaningful change in their daily lives.

“The government will keep promising renewed hope today, tomorrow, and indefinitely. Years into the administration, Nigerians are still waiting for real outcomes. The people deserve accountability and measurable progress,” he stated.

Aregbesola further warned against what he described as the emergence of “kakistocracy,” a system where governance is dominated by the least qualified individuals. He called on Nigerians and opposition forces to unite in resisting what he termed the manipulation of public trust by political actors.

“We must not allow a system where incompetence thrives. There is a duty to stop those who exploit the people through empty rhetoric while mismanaging national resources,” he added.

The convention also witnessed the presence of key opposition figures, including former Senate President and Labour Party presidential candidate , signaling a possible realignment of political forces ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Despite internal challenges and reported disputes involving regulatory bodies, Aregbesola expressed confidence in the party’s resilience, insisting that the ADC remains focused on its mission to “rescue Nigeria.”

“No amount of pressure or intimidation will stop this movement. Like the rising sun, the progress of this party is unstoppable,” he declared.

Political observers believe Aregbesola’s outspoken stance could significantly influence political dynamics in Nigeria’s South-West region, where he has long been regarded as a key political figure. His criticism of the ruling government is seen as a potential shift that may impact voter sentiment in the lead-up to the next general elections.
