Prince of Mburubu Buries Mother-in-Law, Mrs. Christiana Chiuba (née Onwuachumba), April 25


The Enugu State Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology, Engr. Prince Lawrence Ezeh, has formally announced the burial arrangements of his mother-in-law, Late Mrs. Christiana Chiuba (née Onwuachumba), who passed on at the age of 87.


Engr. Ezeh, a respected traditional figure and Prince of Mburubu in Enugu State, made the announcement on behalf of the family, describing the late matriarch as a woman of virtue, faith, and immense devotion to her family and community.


According to the statement, the deceased was the wife of Late Mr. Stephen Chiuba Onyejielem of Umuegbe Amaokpara in Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State. The family noted that she lived a fulfilled life as a loving mother, wife, grandmother, sister, and aunt, whose legacy will continue to inspire generations.


Funeral activities are scheduled to begin on Friday, April 24, 2026, with a wake-keep at St. Matthew Anglican Church, Amaokpara, Nkwerre LGA.


The main burial ceremony will hold on Saturday, April 25, 2026. Proceedings will commence at 8:00 a.m. as her body leaves Joint Hospital Amaigbo for her father’s compound in Umunguma, Umuegbe Amaokpara. By 10:00 a.m., she will lie in state at her husband’s residence in Umuegbe Village.


An open funeral service is slated for 10:30 a.m. at Amaokpara Central School, to be conducted by St. Matthew Anglican Church, followed by interment at 12 noon. Funeral rites will continue with condolence visits from sympathizers and well-wishers.
