Breaking: ADC Factional Chairman, Nafiu Bala Leads Protest in Abuja, Warns Mark, Atiku, Obi, Kwankwaso to Steer Clear for ADC

The internal crisis rocking the (ADC) took a dramatic turn on Thursday as a factional National Chairman of the party, , staged a protest in , openly confronting what he described as undue interference by prominent political figures in the affairs of the party.

The protest, which drew attention from passersby and political observers, saw Nafiu Bala leading a group of supporters in a bold demonstration, calling on notable political heavyweights including , , , and to “leave the ADC alone” and desist from what he termed attempts to hijack the party’s structure.

In a strongly worded address during the protest, Bala accused the political leaders of orchestrating moves capable of destabilizing the party’s internal cohesion, insisting that the ADC must be protected from external influence and political opportunism. He maintained that the party belongs to its founding members and loyal stakeholders, not to individuals seeking a new political platform for personal ambitions.

The demonstration gained further momentum with the presence of a serving member of the House of Representatives, , who joined Bala in solidarity. Abejide’s participation added a legislative dimension to the unfolding crisis, signaling that the dispute has extended beyond internal party leadership tussles to involve elected officials.

Observers say the protest underscores the deepening factional divide within the ADC, as competing interests continue to clash over the party’s direction amid ongoing political realignments across the country.

As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official response from David Mark, Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, or Rabiu Kwankwaso regarding the allegations raised by Nafiu Bala.

Political analysts warn that if not urgently addressed, the crisis could weaken the ADC’s internal cohesion and undermine its prospects in future electoral contests, as instability continues to threaten its credibility as a viable political force in Nigeria.
