The momentum for the 2027 governorship election in Enugu State continues to gather strength as the State Commissioner for Housing, Engr. Gerald Otiji, has formally endorsed the re-election of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, describing the G-17 endorsement register initiative as a powerful and strategic instrument for grassroots political mobilisation.
Speaking during an engagement with the leadership of G-17 For Peter Mbah, Engr. Otiji commended the group for what he termed a well-structured and result-oriented mobilisation framework, noting that the endorsement register remains a practical approach to consolidating support across wards and polling units ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to him, the G-17 movement has distinguished itself as an organic grassroots support group with the capacity and reach to effectively deliver votes for Governor Mbah through its people-driven structure.
“G-17 is a natural grassroots movement that understands the terrain and the people. Their strategy is clear, practical, and result-oriented. The endorsement register is not just a document; it is a strategic instrument that will ensure the re-election of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah in 2027,” Otiji stated.
He further noted that the group’s mobilisation model aligns perfectly with his own political philosophy, emphasizing that sustained engagement at the grassroots remains the most effective pathway to achieving electoral success.
Engr. Otiji also commended the leadership of the G-17 movement for their dedication, consistency, and commitment to promoting good governance, adding that their activities continue to strengthen the governor’s connection with the people. In his remarks, the Convener and Director-General of G-17 For Peter Mbah, Dr. Chinedu Mbah, expressed appreciation to the commissioner for his endorsement and kind words toward the group.
He thanked Engr. Otiji for recognizing the vision behind the G-17 initiative and for his continued support for the administration of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.
Dr. Mbah reiterated that the G-17 movement remains committed to deepening grassroots mobilisation, promoting voter participation, and ensuring that the achievements of Governor Mbah are sustained through a successful re-election in 2027.
Also speaking, the G-17 Coordinator for Ezeagu Local Government Area, Hon. Barr. Marcel Nnachetam, commended the Honourable Commissioner, Engr. Gerald Otiji, for his unwavering support for grassroots mobilisation and alignment with the vision of the G-17 movement. He noted that the endorsement and encouragement from key government officials continue to strengthen the resolve of the group to deliver on its mandate across all local government areas.
Hon. Nnachetam further used the opportunity to formally inform the Commissioner of the forthcoming inauguration of the G-17 structure in Ezeagu Local Government Area, describing it as a major milestone in expanding the group’s grassroots reach. According to him, the planned inauguration will bring together stakeholders, ward coordinators, and supporters across the LGA, as part of efforts to deepen mobilisation and consolidate support for Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah ahead of the 2027 general elections. He assured that Ezeagu remains fully committed to the G-17 agenda and will play a strategic role in delivering overwhelming support for the governor’s re-election.
The latest endorsement by Engr. Gerald Otiji is seen as another strong boost to the growing coalition of political stakeholders, government officials, and grassroots movements rallying behind Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s second-term ambition.
