_...University Vows to Deliver all Polling Units within and around the School Community for Peter Mbah_
__The Federal University of Allied Health Sciences, Enugu (FUAHSE), came alive with excitement and renewed political consciousness as the Grassroots Network for Peter Ndubuisi Mbah (GNPM) carried out a high-impact outreach to the institution, combining student engagement, humanitarian gestures, and policy sensitisation in a well-coordinated campus activation.
__The event, which took place on Wednesday morning, witnessed a remarkable turnout of students who gathered in anticipation, creating an electrifying atmosphere that echoed across the campus. The excitement peaked as students broke into chants of “Peter Mbah dey work, we dey see am!” a spontaneous expression reflecting their awareness of ongoing developments across the state.
__The outreach commenced with an interactive engagement session designed to test students’ awareness of the policies and projects of the Mbah administration. In a lively and participatory format, students who successfully highlighted key government initiatives were rewarded with various gift items, including power banks, stethoscopes, hand fans, face masks, hand gloves, food packs, and beverages.
__The exercise not only created enthusiasm but also reinforced the network’s objective of deepening grassroots understanding of governance by translating policy achievements into relatable and visible impact.
__Addressing the students, representatives of the network elaborated on the administration’s strides in critical sectors such as healthcare, education, infrastructure, water provision, and economic development. They emphasised that the visible transformation across Enugu State is a reflection of purposeful leadership and strategic governance.
__Particular reference was made to the ongoing water project situated at the entrance of the institution, which, according to the speakers, is nearing completion and will significantly improve access to potable water for students and the surrounding community. This drew commendation from students, who acknowledged the direct impact of such projects on their daily lives.
__Speaking during the event, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the network, Cajetan Ali, expressed appreciation to the students and management for their warm reception. He noted that the early assembly of students ahead of the programme demonstrated their enthusiasm and commitment to civic engagement.
__He reiterated that the initiative is part of a broader strategy to sustain grassroots mobilisation and ensure that governance is not only experienced but also properly understood by the people. He further stressed the importance of continuity, urging students to support the administration beyond the present term in order to consolidate ongoing development.
__A major highlight of the visit was the presentation of educational support materials to the institution’s management. The network donated whiteboards and writing materials, a gesture aimed at enhancing the teaching and learning environment within the university.
__In response, the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Professor John Emaimo, who was represented by the Dean of Students Affairs, Mrs. Okafor Ngozi, expressed deep appreciation for the visit and the donations. She described the outreach as unprecedented, noting that it was the first time such a group would not only engage students intellectually but also provide both academic and medical support materials.
__She commended the administration of Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for its visible developmental strides across the state, adding that the institution, as a beneficiary of ongoing infrastructure projects, continues to witness the positive impact of governance.
__Also lending his voice, was the Chairman of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Enugu State, Comrade Okeke Kelvin Chekwube, who was present at the event, praised the governor’s commitment to student welfare, noting that policies under the current administration reflect a clear prioritisation of youth development and educational advancement.
__In his remarks, the Students’ Union Government (SUG) President of FUAHSE, Rt. Comr. Ugwuoti Marius Ikechukwu, applauded the initiative and expressed gratitude to the network for bringing the message of governance closer to students. He reaffirmed the unwavering support of the student body for the governor, citing visible projects and policies as justification.
__He further declared that students within the institution and the surrounding community are fully aligned with the administration’s vision, assuring that polling units within and around the campus would overwhelmingly support Governor Mbah in future electoral processes as a demonstration of appreciation and a call for continuity.
__Delivering the vote of thanks, a member of the Board of Trustees and CEO of AMODHILZ DIAGNOSTIC CENTER ENUGU, Sct. Darlington Ugwuegbe, extended appreciation to the university management, including the Vice-Chancellor, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Dean of Students Affairs, and other principal officers, as well as student leaders, faculty representatives, and campus media groups for their cooperation and participation.
__The event concluded on a high note as students departed with their gift items, visibly elated and more informed about governance efforts in the state. Beyond the distribution of materials, the engagement reinforced the role of structured grassroots engagement in bridging the gap between policy implementation and public understanding, particularly among young people in academic communities.
