BREAKING NEWS!! Tinubu Posts Ugwuanyi, Fani-Kayode, Reno Omokri, Others to Different Countries as Ambassadors

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the posting of 65 Nigerian ambassadors, including former Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi, Femi Fani-Kayode, Reno Omokri, and several others to various countries and international missions across the world.

The ambassadors, made up of 31 career diplomats and 34 non-career nominees, were earlier confirmed by the Nigerian Senate in December 2025.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Friday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who said the postings were approved to strengthen Nigeria’s diplomatic representation globally.

According to the list released by the Presidency, former Enugu State Governor Ugwuanyi has been posted to Greece, where he will serve as Nigeria’s ambassador in Athens.

Former Minister of Aviation Fani-Kayode was posted to Germany, while ex-presidential aide Omokri will serve in Mexico.

Other notable non-career ambassadors include Ita Enang to South Africa, Mahmud Yakubu to Qatar, Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau to China, and Jimoh Ibrahim who will serve as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations.

The statement further revealed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Nigeria) has already secured agrément from the United Kingdom for High Commissioner-designate Aminu Dalhatu, while France has also approved the posting of Ayo Oke.

Onanuga added that the ministry has communicated the nominations of the other envoys to their respective host countries and requested agrément in line with standard diplomatic procedures.

President Tinubu has also directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to immediately commence an induction programme for the ambassadors-designate and high commissioners ahead of their deployment.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the postings of 31 career and 34 non-career ambassadors to various countries and the United Nations. The Senate confirmed the ambassadors-designate last December.
