Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has appointed his close ally, Ibrahim Kabiru Masari, as Special Adviser on Political Affairs.
Masari, a Katsina-born politician and long-time associate of the president, had earlier been appointed in 2023 as Senior Special Assistant on Political Affairs, a role in which he worked closely with the presidency on political strategy and coordination.
Before his involvement in the presidential administration, Masari served as Welfare Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the tenure of Adams Oshiomhole as the party’s National Chairman.
In his new capacity as Special Adviser, Masari is expected to strengthen political coordination within the administration and support the president on key political engagements and stakeholder relations.
He will work alongside Yau Darazo, who was earlier appointed by President Tinubu in July 2023 to serve in a similar advisory role within the presidency.
