A disturbing video obtained by SaharaReporters has shown four kidnapped women being physically assaulted by suspected terrorists.
In the footage, an armed man is seen moving from one victim to another, striking them with the muzzle of an AK-47 rifle after allegedly ordering them to remove their hijabs. The women appear visibly traumatised and in pain as the assault continues.
At a point during the incident, one of the women breaks down in tears, prompting a brief remark in Hausa from someone in the background saying, “Leave it, it is okay.” However, the violence reportedly did not stop.
The women were later seen pleading for help, appealing to the public for intervention and begging for their lives. In their emotional appeal, they called on people to assist them in securing their release, invoking religious sentiments and expressing fear for their survival.
As of the time of filing the report, details surrounding the abduction remain unclear, including the location of the incident and the identity of the group responsible. Nigerian security agencies are yet to issue an official statement regarding the video.
