BREAKING!! Court Sentences Akwa Okuko to 11 Months Imprisonment, Orders Public Denunciation of Okeite

An Anambra State High Court has sentenced native doctor Chukwudozie Nwangwu, popularly known as Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki, to eleven months imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to three charges filed against him by the Anambra State Government.

Delivering judgment, the court ordered that Nwangwu will serve his sentence at the Awka Correctional Center. The judge further directed that his Oba shrine be destroyed and barred him from further involvement in Okeite practices or administering related charms.

The court also ruled that upon completion of his jail term, he must publicly denounce Okeite and similar charm practices. In addition, he is to serve as an Ambassador for youth re-orientation as part of efforts aimed at discouraging ritual-related activities among young people.

The charges against him include engaging in money ritual practices and alleged involvement in rituals linked to the acquisition of wealth. He was also accused of preparing protective charms for criminals, including kidnappers and armed robbers, and aiding criminal activities through the provision of talismans and other spiritual items.
