...Commends President Tinubu for “Well-Deserved Choice”

The immediate past Chairman of Awgu Local Government Council, Hon. Dr. Pedro Okwudili Nwankwo, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the former Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, on his nomination as an ambassador by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Hon. Nwankwo described the president’s decision as “a well-deserved honour for a man who epitomizes peace, humility, and exemplary leadership.” He commended President Tinubu for recognizing Ugwuanyi’s national value, noting that the former governor’s track record made him an outstanding choice for foreign diplomatic service.

Dr. Nwankwo praised Ugwuanyi’s leadership as governor, stressing that his administration was renowned for inclusiveness, stability, and a people-first approach that prioritized harmony across the state. He noted that Ugwuanyi’s calm disposition and conflict-resolving abilities earned him widespread admiration, both within and outside Enugu State.

“Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi led Enugu State with uncommon maturity and deep respect for all segments of society,” Nwankwo stated. “He governed with a peaceful heart, ensured that every citizen had a sense of belonging, and consistently elevated the values of unity and progress. It is only fitting that a man so committed to peace is nominated for a role that demands diplomacy, tact, and national representation.”

The former Awgu council boss expressed confidence that Ugwuanyi would excel in his new assignment, describing him as a bridge-builder whose temperament and leadership experience make him perfectly suited for ambassadorial duties.

“We are proud of him, and we believe he will bring honour to the nation in his new role,” Nwankwo added.

Hon. Dr. Nwankwo concluded by wishing the former governor a successful and distinguished tenure in service to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
