BREAKING: Study Finds Majority of Women Over 40 View Infidelity as Justified When Sexual Needs Are Unmet [Details]

A recent anonymous survey conducted in the United States has claimed that 97 per cent of women aged over 40 believe infidelity may be justified when a husband suffers from sexual performance problems, including impotence, premature ejaculation or other conditions that prevent satisfying intimacy.

The findings, published in a report updated on December 30, 2025, are based on responses from women whose spouses reportedly experience sexual health challenges. According to the study, prolonged lack of sexual satisfaction often leads to emotional strain, frequent conflicts, and growing distance between partners, which in many cases culminates in infidelity and, eventually, divorce.

Sexologist Dr. Emma Johnson stated that unresolved sexual dissatisfaction can trigger subconscious biological and psychological responses in women, increasing the likelihood of seeking fulfillment outside marriage. She noted that persistent sexual frustration may result in irritability, emotional withdrawal, and breakdown of communication within relationships.

The report further suggests that infidelity often begins unintentionally but may become repetitive as emotional and physical needs remain unmet. Experts quoted in the study emphasised that such affairs rarely repair marital relationships and instead deepen mistrust and estrangement.

Medical professionals interviewed in the report stressed the importance of early intervention when sexual health issues arise. Professor William Johnson, a urology specialist, stated that male sexual health problems are treatable in many cases and should not be dismissed as an inevitable consequence of ageing. He emphasised that modern medicine offers non-invasive approaches aimed at improving sexual performance and overall wellbeing.

Health experts also warned that prolonged sexual inactivity in men may be associated with broader health risks, including prostate complications, cardiovascular strain, and psychological stress. They stressed that healthy intimacy plays a significant role in maintaining physical health and marital stability.

The study concludes by urging couples to address sexual health concerns openly and seek professional medical guidance, noting that early treatment and mutual understanding may help prevent relationship breakdowns linked to sexual dissatisfaction.
