The University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), the academic community, and the nation at large were thrown into deep mourning on Sunday, December 28, 2025, following the sudden death of the immediate past Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Professor Charles Arizechukwu Igwe, who reportedly slumped and died after suffering a heart attack.
