BREAKING: LG Chairman Suspended With Immediate Effect [Full Details]

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State has suspended the Chairman of Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area, Dahiru Nayaya Ambursa, from the party with immediate effect over alleged misconduct.

The decision was conveyed in a letter signed by the APC Kebbi Central Zonal Vice Chairman, Abubakar Bello, and made available to journalists on Monday, December 29, 2025.

According to the letter, the suspension followed what the party described as credible reports and findings alleging abuse of office and involvement in actions capable of undermining the unity, stability, and public image of the APC. The party accused the council chairman of engaging in conduct that allegedly undermined, ridiculed, embarrassed, and divided the party, actions it described as detrimental to its collective interests.

“We hereby notify you of your suspension from the party with immediate effect,” the letter stated.

The APC noted that Ambursa’s alleged conduct violated Article 21 (2) (ii) of the APC Constitution (2022, as amended), which outlines offences and disciplinary measures for members whose actions are considered harmful to the party. It added that the suspension was carried out strictly in accordance with the party’s constitution and internal disciplinary procedures.

As part of the disciplinary measures, Ambursa was directed to stay away from all APC offices for the duration of the suspension. The party further warned that any additional misconduct during the suspension period could attract harsher sanctions, including possible expulsion from the party.

“Any further action of this nature may result in more severe disciplinary measures, up to and including expulsion,” the letter warned.

Attempts to reach Dahiru Nayaya Ambursa for comments were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
