Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested three suspected kidnappers who allegedly shot their victim in the leg after collecting a N2 million ransom and discovering he had limited funds in his account.
The suspects, identified as Chukwuebuka Nka (25), Uche Okechukwu, and Somto Chukwuma, reportedly abducted the young man from his residence in Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State. Edafe explained that operatives tracked the suspects to a bush in Ogwashi-Uku, where the victim was rescued despite sustaining a gunshot wound. Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of Nka and Okechukwu in Anambra State, where the victim’s white Toyota Venza was also recovered.
Based on the suspects’ confessions, police raided their hideout in Agidiase village, Ogwashi-Uku, where the third suspect, Chukwuma, was apprehended. The police also recovered the gang’s operational vehicle and a network jammer circuit device believed to have been used during the operation.
