HAPPENING NOW!! Popular Nigerian Controversial Journalist Secretly Arrested, Flown Out By Order Of Top Political Figure

A Nigerian journalist, Fejiro Oliver, has been arrested by operatives of the Force Intelligence Department (FID) and flown to Asaba, the Delta State capital.

TJ News Nigeria gathered that Oliver was picked up from his office in Garki, Abuja, before being taken into custody by security agents. He was later moved to the airport for onward transfer to Asaba on the orders of what sources described as “powerful political figures” in Delta State.

Reports from Sahara Reporters indicate that the arrest took place on Thursday, although the exact reasons for his detention remain unclear. As of the time of this report, security agencies have not issued any official statement on the matter.

Sources within Delta political circles allege that Oliver’s arrest may be tied to his controversial publications and political involvements in the state.

Fejiro Oliver is a media publisher known for hard-hitting articles and investigative-style reporting. However, he has also faced accusations over the years regarding his methods and political affiliations. Critics frequently describe him as a “serial blackmailer,” alleging that he uses his media platform to target politicians. He is currently reported to be working closely with former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege.

During the tenure of former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Oliver wrote scathing articles against Omo-Agege. Following political disagreements, he reportedly shifted focus, publishing critical reports about Governor Sheriff Oborevwori during and after the 2023 elections.

While his critics accuse him of being a political tool in the hands of the highest bidder, Oliver’s supporters argue that he has consistently exposed corruption and malpractices in Delta politics.

Delta State has long been a battleground of competing political interests, with fierce rivalries between camps loyal to Okowa, Omo-Agege, and Governor Oborevwori. Observers believe Oliver’s arrest could be linked to these tensions. His shifting alliances and confrontational reporting style have made him one of the most controversial media figures in the state.

At the time of filing this report:

  • Fejiro Oliver remains in custody in Asaba.
  • The reasons for his arrest have not been publicly stated.
  • Civil society groups and press freedom advocates are monitoring the case closely.
  • It remains uncertain whether he will be charged in court or released after questioning.
