The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has ordered the immediate dissolution of the Rivers State Pensions Board.
This was announced in a Government Special Statement released in Port Harcourt on Friday by the State Head of Service, Mrs. Inyingi Brown. The governor directed that the Office of the Accountant General of Rivers State will temporarily take over the functions of the board until a new one is constituted.
The statement further instructed members of the dissolved board to hand over all properties and assets in their possession to the Director of Administration of the Board without delay. No reason was given for the sudden dissolution.
This move marks the first major directive by Governor Fubara since his reinstatement by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on September 18, 2025.
