BREAKING: Nnamdi Kanu to Know His Fate in Terrorism Case On Friday, September 25th
The detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, will on Friday, September 26, 2025, know his fate in the terrorism case filed against him by the Nigerian Government.
The Federal High Court in Abuja fixed the date to rule on Kanu’s no-case submission, which seeks to dismiss the charges against him. The ruling was initially scheduled for October 10, 2025, but has now been brought forward.
One of Kanu’s lawyers, Aloy Ejimakor, confirmed the development in a post on his X handle on Monday, stating: “The scheduled ruling on Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s no-case submission has been abridged from 10th October 2025 to Friday, 26th September 2025.”
A court notification explained that any party seeking to postpone the hearing must apply promptly and provide proof of facts to support such a request.
Kanu has been in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) since his arrest in Kenya and subsequent repatriation to Nigeria. Last week, he filed an appeal before a vacation judge seeking transfer out of DSS detention over health concerns, but the judge returned the case file to the Chief Judge, citing vacation court timelines.
The September 26 ruling will determine whether the case against Kanu proceeds to trial or is dismissed, marking a critical moment in his long-running legal battle with the Nigerian government.
