BREAKING!! Nigerian Pilgrim Declared Missing in Saudi Arabia During 2025 Hajj

The Kano State Government has confirmed that one of its pilgrims, Sani Abubakar Danmaliki from Kumbotso Local Government Area, has been declared missing in Saudi Arabia during the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf disclosed this on Wednesday after receiving the Kano State 2025 Hajj Report, stating that the government is working closely with the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to locate the missing pilgrim.

“We are collaborating with NAHCON to find the missing pilgrim. If he is alive, we pray for his safe return, and if he is dead, may his soul rest in peace,” Governor Yusuf said while expressing sympathy to the family of the missing pilgrim.

The governor also extended condolences to the families of two other pilgrims from the state who died during the holy exercise in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Governor Yusuf praised the Emir of Karaye, Alhaji Muhammadu Maharaz, leader of the Kano State Hajj delegation, for his dedication and tireless efforts in ensuring the success of the state’s Hajj operations. He also commended the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board for effectively coordinating one of the most successful Hajj exercises in the state’s history.

Presenting the report, Emir Maharaz described the 2025 Kano Hajj operations as “one of the most successful ever,” attributing the achievements to the support of the governor, the commitment of the delegation, and the dedication of the Pilgrims Welfare Board staff.

The Director-General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Lamin Rabiu, echoed similar sentiments, appreciating Governor Yusuf’s continuous support and acknowledging the Emir’s leadership throughout the holy exercise.

The state government assured families that every effort will be made to trace the whereabouts of the missing pilgrim, while also promising improved planning and logistics for future Hajj operations.
