The Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) has officially announced the commencement of its Post-UTME and Direct Entry screening exercise for the 2025/2026 academic session. The university management made this known in a release issued on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, calling on qualified candidates to participate in the online registration process.
According to the announcement, the online screening is open to all candidates who selected ESUT as their first choice in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), as well as those who now wish to change their institution of choice to ESUT. Candidates in the latter category must first apply for a change of institution through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) before proceeding with ESUT’s screening process.
Cut-Off Marks by Department
The University has outlined its departmental cut-off marks as follows:
- 240 and above – Medicine and Surgery, Nursing Sciences, Law
- 220 and above – Pharmacy
- 200 and above – Medical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Radiography, Computer Sciences
- 180 and above – Anatomy, Public Health, Civil Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Accountancy, Business Administration, Mass Communication, Political Science, Biochemistry, Microbiology
- 160 and above – All courses under Faculties of Education, Environmental Sciences, and other related departments
Online Screening Procedure
ESUT emphasized that the screening will be conducted entirely online, and that no physical screening or aptitude test is required. Candidates will be notified of their admission status through SMS and on the official ESUT portal.

- Deadline for registration: Sunday, August 31, 2025
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who are awaiting the release of their WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB results from the May/June 2025 examinations are eligible to apply. However, any results released after September 30, 2025, will not be accepted.
Furthermore, the University strongly warns that any inconsistency in names across certificates and registration documents may lead to disqualification. All names on O’Level results, UTME slips, and other application documents must match.
Declaration and Attestation
Each applicant is required to attest that all information provided during the online screening is accurate. Any deliberate falsehood or misleading information shall result in automatic disqualification.
Direct Entry Applicants
Direct Entry candidates who chose ESUT as their preferred institution are also to participate in the online screening. In addition, they must request their previous institutions to forward their academic transcripts directly to the ESUT Registrar.
