Happening Now!! Ex-PDP Governorship Candidate Officially Resigns From Party

Former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kebbi State, Senator Isa Galaudu, has announced his resignation from the party in what many observers describe as a stunning political exit.

Galaudu, who represented Kebbi North Senatorial District from 2011 to 2015, confirmed his decision in a letter dated August 20, addressed to the PDP ward chairman in Augie North, Alhaji Muhammadu Aliyu Danbuga.

“I write to inform you of my resignation as a member of the PDP with immediate effect. It is evident that the PDP has fallen under the control of politicians aligned with the ruling party at the national level,” Galaudu declared in his letter.

The former Chief of Staff to the Senate President explained that his resignation was necessitated by troubling developments within the PDP, which he believes pose a grave threat to the party’s survival.

“My resignation has become necessary in light of recent happenings in the party and their likely consequence of total collapse,” he added.

Although Galaudu did not disclose his next political direction, he remains a formidable political figure in Kebbi State. Aside from his 2019 governorship bid under the PDP, the former banker also served as a board member of Usman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto, and continues to command significant influence in the political landscape of the state.
