The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kogi State has announced the indefinite suspension of Hon. Leke Abejide, the federal lawmaker representing Yagba East/West–Mopamuro Federal Constituency, over alleged misconduct and insubordination.
In a statement signed by the party’s State Secretary, Adaji John, the ADC leadership accused Hon. Abejide of convening an unauthorized meeting with select party members in Abuja without prior approval from the state executive. The lawmaker was further alleged to have made derogatory remarks against the party leadership and acted in ways deemed detrimental to the party's unity and progress in Kogi State.
The statement emphasized that the suspension takes immediate effect and serves as a warning to other party members who may be contemplating similar actions. The party cautioned that any continued defiance by Mr. Abejide could lead to full expulsion.
“This action is necessary to preserve party discipline and respect for constituted authority within the party structure,” the statement read.
The ADC also urged all members to refrain from participating in unsanctioned gatherings or risk facing disciplinary measures.
