The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) has notified its customers in Anambra State and parts of Enugu State of a planned power outage scheduled to take place between Sunday, August 31, and Monday, September 1, 2025.
In a statement signed by Emeka Ezeh, Group Head, Corporate Communications, EEDC, the company explained that the outage is necessary to enable the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) maintenance crew to replace faulty overhead stack porcelain insulators at its 330kV switch yard in Awada.
According to the statement, the interruption of electricity supply will occur daily between the hours of 9:00 am and 6:00 pm throughout the maintenance period.
EEDC expressed regret over the inconvenience the outage may cause, while appealing for the understanding of its customers, stressing that the exercise is aimed at improving and enhancing the quality of electricity service delivery in the affected areas, which include Oji River and adjoining communities in Enugu State.
