...Recover Pump Action Gun, Ammunition, Charms and Other Incriminating Items
The Anambra State Police Command has successfully foiled a cult initiation ceremony in Nawfia, Njikoka Local Government Area, arresting six suspects and recovering weapons and other incriminating materials in the process.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the operation was carried out at about 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, 15th June 2025, following intelligence-driven information.
During the sting operation, police operatives apprehended six young men suspected to be members of a cult group. Items recovered from the scene include one Jojef pump action gun, two live cartridges, a golden coloured Lexus SUV with registration number ATN 202 AE, two cutlasses, two scissors, a cap bearing the insignia of the Supreme Vikings Confraternity, hard substances suspected to be illicit drugs, charms, and other incriminating items.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Nwadike Chibuike, Anierobi Precious, Raphael Ebube, Ezechi Benjamin, Okafor Chidera, and Chiema Okoye—all males aged between 20 and 30 years. They are currently undergoing interrogation to uncover more details about their operations and affiliations. The case will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.
SP Ikenga emphasized the Anambra State Command’s unwavering commitment to dismantling cult groups and curbing the spread of cultism and related criminal activities across the state.
The police further called on members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements or activities to security agencies for prompt intervention.
