The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, psc, has extended warm greetings to the Muslim Ummah in Enugu State and across Nigeria on the occasion of the 2025 Eid-ul-Adha celebration.

In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe, on Wednesday, June 5, CP Giwa congratulated the faithful on witnessing yet another season of sacrifice and devotion. He called on Muslims to mark the Sallah celebration responsibly while upholding the sacred values of obedience, sacrifice, and peaceful coexistence that define the festival.

To guarantee the safety of lives and property during the Eid-ul-Adha and the accompanying holiday period, the Commissioner has ordered the strategic and massive deployment of operational and intelligence assets of the Command across Enugu State.

The deployment will cover key areas including prayer grounds, major roads and streets, recreational centres, markets, and other public spaces where large gatherings are expected.

CP Giwa directed Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), Heads of the State Intelligence Department (SID), the Distress Response Squad (DRS), and all Tactical and Operational Units of the Command to ensure strict implementation of the deployment strategy. He emphasized that officers must conduct themselves professionally and with utmost respect for citizens’ rights throughout the festive period.

While reiterating the Command’s unwavering commitment to ensuring a peaceful celebration, CP Giwa urged residents of the State to remain law-abiding, security-conscious, and to promptly report any suspicious activities or individuals to the nearest police station.

He also encouraged the public to make use of the Command’s emergency contact lines: 08032003702 and 08086671202.

The Enugu State Police Command wishes all Muslim faithful a peaceful, joyous, and hitch-free Eid-ul-Adha celebration.
