Enugu State marks two years of purposeful leadership under Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, accolades continue to pour in from stakeholders across the state and beyond. Among them is a heartfelt tribute from the former Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Pedro Okwudili Nwankwo (Eze Omeogo), who described Mbah’s administration as “a masterclass in transformative governance.”
In a goodwill message released on Thursday, Hon. Pedro praised the governor for exceeding expectations and demonstrating that genuine leadership is not about rhetoric, but results.
“Your Excellency, in just 24 months, you have redefined what leadership means for our people. You have proven that ideas, when matched with courage and integrity, can reshape not just a state but its destiny.”
Recalling the state’s past struggles with underdevelopment, Hon. Pedro acknowledged the visible turnaround across various sectors. He hailed the unprecedented push in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and, most notably, the digital economy — describing it as “a futuristic leap that many never thought possible.”
“From the once-dilapidated roads now reconstructed, to the digital governance platforms you’ve introduced, to the clean water flowing into homes after decades of dry taps — the difference is no longer in promises but in the daily lives of Enugu people.”
Drawing from his own experience as a grassroots leader, Hon. Pedro emphasized the importance of vision and consistency in governance;
“In Governor Mbah, we see a leader who listens. A builder who acts. A reformer who does not flinch in the face of tough decisions. This is not just administration, it is transformation.”
He further commended the governor’s emphasis on innovation, transparency, and sustainable development, stressing that Mbah’s model of governance deserves to be studied and replicated nationwide.
“Your style is not just progressive, it is courageous. While others wait for things to happen, you make them happen. You are building the Enugu of tomorrow, today.”
Concluding his tribute, Hon. Pedro urged citizens to rally behind the governor and protect the gains already made, assuring him of continued support from the people of Awgu and beyond.
“On behalf of myself, my family, and the good people of Awgu LGA, I say congratulations. Keep pressing forward, because history is already writing your name in gold.”
Governor Peter Mbah assumed office on May 29, 2023, with a disruptive development agenda. Two years later, his administration is widely praised for delivering bold reforms and reshaping the narrative of Enugu as a state poised for 21st-century relevance.
