[VIDEO] HAPPENING NOW!! Fulani Herdsmen Launch Midnight Attacks on Edo Community, Villagers Flee in Darkness

Panic and chaos have gripped parts of Edo North as suspected Fulani herdsmen launched coordinated midnight attacks on local communities, forcing terrified residents to flee into the night for safety.

Eyewitness accounts and distress messages circulating on social media reveal that the attackers descended on several villages under the cover of darkness, unleashing violence and instilling fear among residents. Many families reportedly abandoned their homes with only the clothes on their backs, navigating bush paths in search of refuge.

“This is like a horror movie. I can’t believe this is happening in my state,” said one anonymous resident who shared a video online, pleading for urgent government intervention. “Our people are being hunted at night while the world sleeps.”

The attacks, described by locals as unprovoked and brutal, have reignited fears of growing insecurity in the South, especially as citizens increasingly express doubt over the government's willingness or ability to contain the escalating violence.

Some residents have voiced concern that the armed invaders appear to operate with impunity, pointing to what they describe as “government complicity or silence” in the face of growing threats.

“This is how Nigeria will collapse,” lamented another user on X (formerly Twitter). “When people take the law into their hands like Uromi youths did the other time, those in power start pretending to care. But when rural communities are wiped out, they look the other way.”

The situation remains tense, and many communities in Edo North are reportedly on high alert, with local leaders calling for immediate federal attention, deployment of security forces, and protection of lives and property.

As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official statement from the Edo State Government or the Nigerian Police Force.

This is a developing story. More details to follow.
