An Enugu-born academic and respected university don, Dr. Kingsley Chidiebere Nnakwo, has been elected Sub-Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, Anambra State.
The election, which took place on Wednesday, April 7, 2025, marks another milestone in Dr. Nnakwo’s impressive academic career. Prior to this new role, he served as Head of Department (HOD) for Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at the institution. He also held the position of Deputy Director 1, Public-Private Partnership (PPP), a role to which he was appointed by the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Joseph I. Ikechebelu, FAMedS, FNAMed.
Dr. Nnakwo, a Senior Lecturer, is also actively involved in national professional bodies. He was recently elected National Assistant Technical Secretary of the Nigerian Metallurgical Society (NMS) and holds the prestigious title of Fellow of the Society.
His election as Sub-Dean is seen as a testament to his academic leadership, administrative capacity, and commitment to excellence in engineering education.
