Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Shehu Dikko, speaking on behalf of the Federal Government of Nigeria, described the incident as an "unspeakable loss" not only to Kano State and the families affected but to the entire country. He emphasized that these individuals had shown exceptional commitment to excellence in sports and embodied the hopes of a brighter future for Nigeria through their passion and hard work.
The Federal Government mourns alongside the Kano State Government, the sports community, and every family touched by this tragedy. The NSC is actively working with relevant authorities to provide the necessary support to the victims’ families and to ensure that the memories and sacrifices of the fallen heroes are honored appropriately.
Dikko said, “It is our duty to ensure such heroes are never forgotten. We pray for the peaceful repose of the souls of the departed and for quick recovery for those injured. May Almighty Allah comfort all of us and give us strength to bear this irreplaceable loss.”
