Osun APC Fumes As Labour Unions Endorse Adeleke’s Re-election

Osun APC  Labour Endorsement of Governor Adeleke

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused Governor Ademola Adeleke of using state funds to buy endorsements from labour unions — NULGE, NLC, and TUC — for his second-term bid. In a statement by the APC’s Director of Media, Kola Olabisi, the party claimed Adeleke's government disbursed N172 million to union leaders to secure their public support during the May Day celebrations in Osogbo.

According to the APC, N97 million went to a faction of NULGE, while N75 million was allegedly shared between NLC and TUC. The APC also alleged that the government distributed Ankara uniforms and instructed workers to attend the May Day event to falsely portray public support for Adeleke.

The party condemned what it described as the governor’s misgovernance, especially citing the continued stay-at-home order by local government workers and the non-implementation of a court ruling reinstating council chairmen. It labeled Adeleke a "ceremonial governor" more focused on entertainment than governance.
